Some of you may have seen notices in your Google Analytics accounts or received emails from Google about a very big change coming to your website data. Google’s Universal Analytics, its free web stats platform, is sunsetting in July 2023, and its new platform, known as GA4, will be the new standard.
Why This Matters to You
- Data is measured completely differently, so we will need to start measuring different metrics for web success.
- Data storage is limited – Google will now only store your analytics data for up to 14 months. If you want to keep more data than that, we will need to find a different solution.
How We Are Helping
MSI has installed GA4 on your website and it is currently running in parallel to your regular data. We are drafting a sample report using GA4 data this quarter – we can set this up for you to start seeing how your new data will look. Our goal will be to set up some training time in Q1 2023 to go over differences in the data and make any additional configurations to ensure you have the data you need, and that you’re ready to go fully live in July with the new platform.
