Kenai River Sportfishing Association (KRSA)
KRSA mobilizes a broad alliance of Alaskans to protect the world’s greatest fishing river. Home to all species of Pacific salmon and three species of trout, Kenai River spawned the term “combat fishing,” with hundreds of anglers lined up shoulder-to-shoulder. The nonprofit builds miles of boardwalk to prevent people from walking on fragile riverbank, restores fish habitat, lobbies for environmental protections, pays for disadvantaged urban youth to go on fishing trips, and produces educational programs.
